Our Final Thoughts
Interesting stuff eh? What has been intriguing for us is the sheer number of responses, and the casual nature of some of the sightings. Rather than piecing something together, we are uncovering tales hidden below the surface. This is not about the Romans, or the Celts, or even a prehistoric man. This goes far deeper.
The landscape around Bath changes so quickly from canals to fields. Fog often hides the city in the morning. Damp climbs the walls every winter. The rational part of our brains said this is due to the valley. That it is something to do with atmospheric pressure, the inevitable geography and chemistry from so much water underground. But what if there is something more to this spot? Something magical?
If you accept even the theoretical existence of the goddess, you see the water everywhere. So if you have a bath or shower, are you washing in the ritual waters of the goddess? If you have a glass of water, or drink the local beer, are you undertaking communion? A rain shower is a firework show in this city.
Maybe we have thought about Bath too much. Maybe we have thought about water too much.
Whatever your feelings on the veracity of our discoveries, we are going to keep going. However, our face to face interview with Deborah made us pause. We need to push this further.
So for the next two months we will be following up with leads, tracking people down, and meeting them in person. Next time we will not just have stories, but transcripts, interviewees willing to go on records that what they say is true.
Join us on June 11th for another wave of tales.
